Just a reminder that next week is the week I will be away in Newfoundland at Special Olympics Canada national games. I promised the kids I'd post something here about what I'm doing! I've left everything in order in the class room, so it should be just as if I'm there!

We had a great field trip today! I have to say, the students were AMAZING! Here are some pictures from the day. I have many more but they all have faces in them. I can't post them since not everyone singed the media release form, but I will find a way to get them to you when I'm back! 

Here is the pink heart the students may need for tonight's homework. They need to explain to you what we talked about in relation to that heart. 

Also, homework is to do the second page of their communities workbook. Please don't do any other pages since we will be doing these together in class. The second page is about changes they have seen in their own communities. 

Oops! I forgot to remind students that it's pink shirt anti bullying day tomorrow. Remember to wear something pink!

Infinitus

We had a great performance today by a string trio called Infinitus. I highly recommend checking them out. They're on facebook and their website is http://infinitusmusic.com/

I hope everyone had a great valentines weekend with your loved ones. The project we sent home on Friday is my favourite of the whole year. I hope you enjoyed reading them as much as I enjoyed seeing the kids' faces when they received them. 

We are working on our final structures project this week. If you have any recyclables that are less than 6x6 inches, we would love to use them in the class. Please send them tomorrow morning. 

This week's dictée is a bit different. Students chose their own words based on their precious dictées, the word wall, and work we have done.

We didn't write it in our agendas today, but we don't have a dictée this week. 

Also, we will be finishing our structures unit next week. If you have pieces we could use for construction (boxes, tubes, containers, etc) that you can send to school, it would be much appreciated. We will be starting next Monday, so please send it before then. I ask that all the pieces you send are less than 6 inches by 6 inches in order to keep the project manageable.

Valentines

I hope everyone had a great long weekend! We had such wonderful weather. 

We will be having a class party for valentines this Friday. I have a project that will take most of the day, but we will have a bit of party time in the afternoon. If you would like to send a healthy snack (please see allergies I sent home at the beginning of the year), please do! 

If your child would like to give valentines to the class, that would also be great! Please make sure there is one for everyone if you are choosing to give them. I will send a list of names home in the agenda tomorrow.
