On Tuesday, we will be taking a walk down to the Fraser River. We will be leaving the school around 10:15 after a presentation and back by 3pm. Please be sure to pack sunscreen, hat, jacket, water bottle, and steady walking shoes for our outing. If you're able to come with us, please message me to let me know. Merci!

Busy busy busy! Here are a bunch of things we have been doing the past two weeks.

We finished reading James and the Giant Peach. We watched the movie (while eating peaches of course) and did a comparison activity between the two. Students now have been working on a choice project where the goal is to show me they understood the story. Some are wiring a news report on the events, some are doing a text message conversation between a few characters.

We have finished our posters and books for our socials project. I’ve been so impressed with the thoughtfulness of the students when working on these. I’ll be sending home pictures and rubrics for these projects.

With Mme Elizabeth, we have been working on theater! Students have been learning to read with expression and move as they recite their lines. Our goal is to do plays by June!

We have potatoes growing! How fun to observe them. We will be planting in our garden boxes next week!

Today we had a work composting workshop. I learned so much, and the students had so many questions!!! Some are coming home with a plan to research and share the answer with the class tomorrow.

In math, we have finished division. Today we started learning about fractions. There are fractions in our lives every day! Be sure to point them out.

A quick note that this week's dictée is not one that needs to be studied. We will be doing an activity in class on Friday. Please have students bring their duo tangs on Friday.

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone for conferences. I haven't posted too much lately so you have some things to see this week
